The Final Sleep Finally, one of those most original grind bands is making a comeback. It's been far too long

alex_bct Die Platte ist ein Killer.
Einfach genial abwechslungsreich.

fyeahmetal Grindcore is typically "external" music (energy flows outward, often directed at something specific), so this album is interesting because it's very internal, lyrically and sonically. Grind is a connecting thread here, but there's so much other stuff mixed in - blackened atmospherics, death metal, noise rock, post-rock melodies - recorded and produced extremely well by Topon Das. More grind bands are exploring these territories now, like Cloud Rat and Wake, but FTF paved the way for them. Favorite track: Everything I Love Is Ending.

Running after time, the time I don’t have Chasing my tail, facing the wall, The one that I’ve built over time Adding tasks and expectations to the list Making it so impossible to reach the top Still, I find myself trying so hard to climb it The collapse and the guilt The sense of failure for not reaching it Constantly preoccupied Planning all the moments to come I forgot how to live in the moment, how to enjoy the now Lost in my days and out of breath Yet, I feel worthless when I allow myself to rest Going through the motions Buried within layers of indifference, All I see is in monochrome Everything feels like a chore This beast of my own making that I despise I’m empty Reflecting on the past I want to bring back the drive
2.
Ailleurs 01:17
Lorsque je serai vieille et seule je me lèverai et partirai Sans racine Il me restera si peu d’attaches Ceux qui resteront ne diront rien Quand j’en aurai assez, j’irai ailleurs
3.
4.
Aube 01:24
Je dois me l’inventer, ce beau souvenir. Laisse-moi une chance
5.
7.
We will turn to dust Doomed, we live We refuse to accept the inevitable; we aren’t so special It feels horrible Everything I love is ending I believed what we live mattered Making all those moments count It seems so pointless now I’m crushed All the efforts engaged, when everyone that I know, love and hate will leave me Why can’t I forget that for a second? I can’t stop thinking I am waiting for you, for you to leave Like everybody else will, you will
8.
We both know it is our last time together I’m not ready for this I’m telling myself lies to stay strong for us
9.
The infection is spreading Like a field infested with insects, with pests that multiply Unable to treat the infection, it’s becoming larger You can’t handle; you let it go You let it take over Leaving the open field for them to multiply You don’t care because what grows is not deemed worth the fight As a result your plants are dying at an alarming rate Nobody bats an eye We only hear well written public statements full of promises We hear you say you’re concerned, that you understand But nothing is done State of emergency; where are the resources? It’s all talk Help isn’t on the way Communities will remain under strain Pushed to the breaking point Everyone is scrambling to save lives As long as you feel their lives do not matter, they will keep dying
10.
L'abandon 02:07
11.
An Ending 03:27
If we stand together we might have a chance But we’re so far apart
12.
_cide 03:59
Doomed at birth Born in the wrong place, the wrong time Disposed, dehumanized to justify their crime Buried alive or left to nature Because you are a burden Because you are a drain The violence too often accepted, even encouraged Perpetrated within a system that believes you are inferior and ensures you remain there You are more an object, a commodity, not an equal On your frail shoulders The weight you’ve always carried You belong to others The violence will come, don’t you dare to be free How will this all end?
